Matt Theobald Lake Tahoe SunsetJoin Matt Theobald in the field for a Sunset Long Exposure Workshop on Saturday, May 15, 2021, 7 pm – 8pm at the Blackrock Lake Parking Lot (off C470 and Sante Fe).

Practice using the tools and techniques needed to elevate your creative landscape photography. This workshop will be divided up into two parts:

Part 1 – An informational session all about tripods and tripod heads. These are essential tools in most photographic genres and there’s more to know than you might first think. We’ll look at all aspects of build quality and functionality, their relative importance and how they relate to the cost and value to you as a photographer.

Part 2 – We’ll shoot sunset together, building on the skills and techniques learned in our January 2021 filter workshop, putting into practice scouting and composing with long exposure in mind, when and why each filter can be used, and we’ll focus on in field techniques when shooting with filters, to streamline your workflow and allow you to feel better prepared and practiced to achieve your creative vision.

To get the most out of the workshop, please bring along your tripod, tripod head and any camera filters you have, particularly ND, GND, and CPL filters.

Registration required:
Cost is $30 per person for LTPC members or non-members. Limited to 12 people.

About Matt Theobald:
Matt Theobald is a professional landscape and wildlife photographer living in Highlands Ranch, CO. Matt’s photographic journey was born out of a deeply rooted love of the natural world and a desire to bring home more than just memories from the beautiful places he visits. His desire is to capture and bring home the heart and soul of the environment, enabling him to both remember the feeling and emotion of that place and time in his life, but also to share it with others. This desire to bring home more than just a snapshot was the catalyst to diving into the world of filters and exploring the many creative ways they can help capture the essence of what drew us to stand there in that moment and take the shot. Matt has never looked back and continues to use filters extensively in his landscape photography. He has even worked for a leading global filter manufacturer. Matt has shared his photographic expertise and knowledge of filters with photographers, conference attendees, and workshop participants worldwide. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Nick Page, Michael Shainblum, Alex Noreiga, Colby Brown, Sean Bagshaw, Ian Plant, Rick Sammon and John Weatherby, to name a few.
