About Andy Robbins
Andy Robbins is a Colorado-based professional photographer and owner of Andy Robbins ImageWorks, which operates under two photography brands: Andy Robbins Photo Art and PuppyPix Pet Photography. Over the last three years, Andy’s primary photographic focus has been PuppyPix Pet Photography, specializing in expressive dog portraits, family sessions with pets, and creating authentic imagery that captures personality, emotion, and connection.

Andy’s passion for dogs is central to his work and creative approach. He believes pets are family members and focuses on documenting the bond, personality, and moments that matter most between people and their animals. His sessions are built around patience, observation, and creating a comfortable environment that allows authentic expressions and interactions to emerge naturally.

Andy also lives with a form of aphantasia that affects how memories and visual imagery are experienced internally. Photography became an important way for him to preserve moments, relationships, and experiences in a tangible and meaningful form. That perspective has helped shape his emphasis on emotional authenticity, storytelling, and creating images that feel personal rather than staged.

In addition to his pet photography work, Andy also photographs landscapes, fall color and mountain scenes, commercial imagery, architecture, headshots, and portrait sessions. His broader photography experience supports a strong understanding of lighting, composition, storytelling, and client interaction while maintaining a clear artistic focus on creating natural and emotionally engaging images.

Andy brings more than 35 years of senior IT leadership and hands-on technology experience into his photography workflow. His technical background strongly influences his approach to lighting, camera systems, post-processing, and image quality, while his photography continues to evolve with an increased emphasis on artistic vision, visual storytelling, and authentic representation.

His photography style combines technical precision with patience, observation, and an understanding of both animal behavior and human interaction. Andy’s landscape and outdoor work often focuses on Colorado and the American Southwest, with particular attention to changing weather, dramatic light, seasonal color, and the natural character of the environment.

For this workshop series, Andy will be sharing practical techniques for photographing dogs both in-camera and during post-processing using Lightroom and Photoshop.
