McCory James presents “Travel Photography: Capturing Compelling Street Scenes” on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 7pm, Lone Tree Civic Center. Join remotely via Zoom. Arrive 30 minutes early for social time, to visit with your fellow club members and meet some new folks. The program is 7pm – 9pm.

During this presentation you will learn how to capture street photography while traveling that truly brings your journey to life. We will explore how to spot great subjects, build a strong sense of story and use visual elements and beautiful light to elevate your images. You will leave inspired and equipped with practical, easy to use tips that help you create photos you will be proud to share after your next trip.

Walking the Dogs - McCory JamesMcCory James has been a full-time professional photographer for more than 20 years, focusing on events, architecture, editorial portraits and travel. His love for photography began on work trips to Europe, where he started taking photos just for fun. Friends began noticing his work and hiring and referring him, which encouraged him to pursue photography as a career. Since then he has traveled to 30 countries with his camera. McCory’s earliest influence was Ansel Adams and his book series, The Ansel Adams Guide. He is also inspired by the work of Margaret Bourke-White, Michael Kenna and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
