About Dawn Wilson
Dawn Wilson is a professional and award-winning nature photographer who specializes in photographing wildlife of high altitudes and high latitudes of the Rocky Mountains and Alaska. She started with photography as a child, photographing any event she attended. After obtaining a communications degree from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, a computer graphics certificate from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and an MBA in marketing from Temple University, she moved to Colorado. Here she discovered the beauty of the outdoors and her passion for photographing the large and small mammals of the high country. After several tragedies in her life, she quit her corporate job of 20 years in 2013 to pursue photography and writing full-time. Life was too short to pursue her passions. She currently travels throughout the U.S. in a 39′ RV photographing wildlife and telling the stories about the amazing places she visits. Dawn also volunteers as a Master Naturalist with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department, writes two monthly columns for the Fort Collins Coloradoan and is a trained ‘Leave No Trace’ steward. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines, calendars and campaigns, including Outdoor Photographer, Natures Best, Wyoming Wildlife, and Colorado Outdoors.
