Best of the Best from American Society of Photographers

Our speaker last night, Jeff Johnson mentioned an elite group, the Best of the Best Photographers from the American Society Photographers.  In a  quick visit to their site I discovered a marvelous YouTube video of their finest work from 2011. Hope this 7-minute slide show is an inspiration to you!

New Natural Landmarks for Your Bucket List

Living in Colorado we are truly blessed with some of the most remarkable scenery in the world!  Did you know that recently several Colorado locations were added to the list of Natural Landmarks?  Out of six locations, two of them are in Colorado!

Perhaps you need to add them to your bucket list, here they are:

  • Lake Billy Chinook, Oregon
  • Kahlotus Prairie, Washington
  • Hanging Lake, Colorado (White River national Forest near Glenwood Springs)
  • Barfoot Park, Arizona
  • Round Top Butte, Oregon
  • Golden Fossil Areas, Colorado (Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison!)
National Geographic Daily News is the source of this list.  View the images here.

It’s Bugling Time!

Last week the Denver Post had a good story on the Elk  in Estes Park.  Most Colorado photographers and citizens in general have seen this wonderful ritual that takes place in our nearby  national treasure, the Rocky Mountain National Park.  Just in case you haven’t perhaps you should.  Here’s a link to the story, “Call of the Wild: Autumn elk bugling in Estes Park”  Hope you have time to take some wonderful images this fall.
