April 26th – Images Delivered (9:00 am to 11:30 am) Receiving images

April 27th Help in hanging the images (time to be determined)

Saturday, April 30th – Opening Reception (4:30 pm – 6:30 pm) Check in the artists

May 31st – Images picked up by artists and buyers (9:00 am – 11:30 am) assist with the check out process

Exploring the Light 2016

Exploring the Light will run from April 27th, 2016 – May 29th, 2016 at the Lone Tree Arts Center and is presented by the Lone Tree Arts Commission and the Lone Tree Photo Club, with support from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).


Viewing hours: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday and two hours before productions at The Lone Tree Arts Center.

All images are available for purchase through the Lone Tree Arts Center Box Office.

Total Cash awards are estimated at $3,000. Best of Show and first place winners in each category will be awarded gallery space for approximately 2 weeks at the Lone Tree Arts Center following the photo show. Awards include, first, second and third place in every category, Best of Show and People’s Choice.

Exploring the Light – 2016 Photo Show Book for Purchase
With photographer’s permission, the Lone Tree Photo Club will compose a book with accepted entries representing Exploring the Light 2016. Accepted images will be printed with the photographer’s name and information about the image such as location, camera and the story behind the photo. Exploring the Light will be available for viewing and purchase online after the close of the show in June 2016.

Call for Entry – Lone Tree Photographic Show and Sale

Time to gather your best of 2012 for the Eleventh Annual Lone Tree Photographic Art Show and Sale.  The entry deadline is March 3, 2013.  The show runs from April 20 through June 9, 2013 at the Lone Tree Arts Center.

The Lone Tree Photo Club assists the Lone Tree Arts Commission with the show that is supported by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).  Each year photographers from all over Colorado and some other States submit their work for the show and to compete for cash awards.

The Best of Show winner will be awarded gallery space for up to ten images for 30 days at the Lone Tree Arts Center immediately following the Photo Show.

Submissions are handled by CaFE, where artists create an account and submit up to three images for a non-refundable $35 fee.  All images must be submitted via CaFE.

The categories for 2013 are as follows:

  • People, Travel & Place
  • Wild Animals
  • Nature and Landscape
  • Digital Art

Weldon Lee is the 2013 Juror.  His work has been exhibited in the Denver Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh.  Weldon’s images have appeared in numerous magazines including Mature Outlook, National Wildlife, Backpacker, national Parks Magazine, Bird Watcher’s Digest, Outdoor Photographer, Petersen’s PHOTOgraphic, and Nature Photographer.

Call For Entry ~ Lone Tree Photographic Art Show & Sale

Spruce Tree House by Laura Bennett ~ Best of Show 2011

Photographers, the time has come to submit your work to the Annual Lone Tree Photographic Art Show.  The 10th Annual Show will be held March 3 through April 29, 2012. This year the show will be presented in the new Lone Tree Arts Center.

Opening night reception will be held from 3-5 p.m.  Everyone is invited.  Photographers will offer bin work in addition to entries for sale.

The Lone Tree Photography Club will offer a book for sale of all the entries.


Entries are being taken via CaFE an online submissions website.  Entries are being accepted now through January 27, 2012.  Categories are:

  • Color
  • Monochrome
  • Special Effects color
  • Special Effects Monochrome


  • Dr. Jason Odell – author of several digital photography books: The Photographer’s Guide to Capture NX and The Photographer’s Guide to Capture NX2 among many others.

Visions of Light ~ Call for Entries

The Visions of Light Show is a yearly juried photography competition sponsored by the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts. The show will run from February 28 – March 24, 2012. This competition will challenge photographers to go beyond producing a technically correct photographic image and demonstrate their use and control of light to help define the subject.

This all photography competition will have five categories, including Landscape, Architecture, People, Wildlife and Nature, and Abstract, with a First Prize cash award for each category and a $500 Best of Show award. A Prospectus with the detailed Call for Entries and the Entry Form are available on the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts website (trilakesarts.org), and it is also attached. The deadline for entries is January 29, 2012.

Lone Tree Photo Club Library Art Show

The Annual Library Photo Show is rapidly approaching.  If you plan to participate, be sure to follow this link for the registration form and other details.

All sales shall be coordinated by Photographer and buyer.  The library will not be charging or collecting fees.

We need volunteers for receiving images on Sunday, October 30, 2011 between 12:00-2:00 p.m.  Drop off of the images will occur at this time also.

Pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

Share the View – Nature Photography Contest

Audubon Society of Greater Denver is sponsoring “Share the View” an International Nature Photography Contest.

Entry period: Octover 15th to November 30th, 2011

Subjects should be in keeping with the theme of nature and wildlife.  Photographs of animals in the wild are favored over those in controlled conditions.
